Here is your first assignment on our new discussion board:
1. Vote in the "Money Poll".
2. Write up a brief post explaining to your classmates why you voted the way you did.
3. Respond to the posts of two classmates.

I selected the option to "set up a personal budget" -- however, not only must a budget be set up, it must also be ADHERED to!

I always set a personal buget for all of my purchases, and I make every effort to stay with the budget unless I have a major emergency. I also, set a travel budget for each year.

I chose “Set a Budget” because I felt pressured to do so because “Set a Budget” already had 100% of the votes and I did not want to be the one who made it drop in %.

I can tell that you are a very disciplined individual. Regarding travel: I noticed that Clark Howard's web site has some information regarding travel. You might want to check that out: www.clarkhoward.com.

I agree that a budget must be adhered to once it is set.

I am so impressed with the ideas that the three of you have for making money on the side. Bobby, I have a recipe that I'll bring next week -- it involves baking pound cakes in mason jars. That might be a way to do smaller cakes at a lower cost.

Setting a budget is a number one first step -- and then we have to STICK to that budget! I like Bridgette's idea about keeping a spending diary.

Since attending Coupon Keri's Workshop, I'm convinced that I CAN save money at Harris Teeter. I understand that their good doubling/tripling promotions generally take place near the end of the month. I'll be interested to hear if ya'll find some good deals there!

I voted for "setting a personal budget" because I believe that if you do not have a budget set you do not know what your limits are. Having a budget lets you know what you have available to spend.
